Freedom
Roberta is a Freedom Park Board Member and the Freedom Bark Park Committee Chairman. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for 35 years, Roberta has dealt with a variety of family issues including the grief and loss of a pet. She has maintained a pet friendly office for over 21 years. Roberta is a registered member of a local dog park for the past 3 years and she is also a member of the ASPCA for 6 years. She has three Golden Retrievers, Mason, Jaxon and Jersey.
Sharon is a lifelong pet lover and owner. Her mother, Mary Hylek, taught her to love and respect all animals. When approached about creating a memorial at the dog park for Mary, who passed away in November 2007, Sharon was eager to make a lasting tribute to a truly amazing person and dog owner. In October 2008, the small dog park was lovingly dedicated to the memory of Mary Hylek. Sharon graduated from St. Mary's College in South Bend, and currently works as a Paralegal at a large law firm in downtown Chicago. In her spare time, Sharon is actively involved in many non-profit organizations, and is a dedicated member of the Lap Dogs. Sharon lives in Crown Point and is the proud parent of two dogs (Laci and Champ), as well as four cats (Molly, Maddie, Willi, and Emily).
Pam is a landscape designer, Indiana accredited horticulturist, and garden columnist for the Lowell Tribune. Pam has worked in the horticultural industry for over thirteen years and loves to design specialty gardens. Pam and husband Joe are devoted to their three dogs, a Great Dane named Daisy, a Boxer named Bugsy and a Shitzu named Molly.
Dr. Rebecca Salter is a veterinarian with 20 years of experience treating small animals. After graduating from Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine, she practiced in Georgia, TX and the Kingdom of Belgium. Dr. Salter owns Hebron Animal Hospital. She and her family share their lives with a Shetland Sheepdog named Sunny. Sunny has experienced the joy of off-leash play only while on vacation in Wyoming, and she loves having her own dog park in Lowell.
Millie resides in Lowell with her husband, Dr. Brian Norton, and their sons. The Norton’s own and run Bardens Animal Clinic in town. In addition, Millie serves as Secretary of the Lowell Chamber of Commerce. In their spare time, Millie and family enjoy computer games, camping, fishing, and cycling. The family also enjoys the company of four dogs named Sassy, Shadow, Romeo and Tiny Monster, as well as two cats named Mardi Gras and Spiderman.
